Updates

Owners and Admins can review every AI assistant connected to their organization and revoke any of them, while each person manages their own connections under Personal settings. Revoking takes effect the next time that assistant tries to reach Cardinal.

• Organization connections show who connected the assistant, when, and when it was last used.
• Request counts shown alongside connections are placeholder figures for now.

A new Features & Limits page under Organization settings shows which features are turned on and how much of each plan limit you've used. Usage has moved here from Billing, and older links land on the new page automatically.

A new Organizations page in Settings lists the organizations you belong to, where you can accept, decline, or block invitations and leave any organization you're a guest in. Invitation emails now take existing Cardinal users straight into the app instead of through a separate welcome page.

Company and lease records now reflect arrangements that didn't fit before, so you spend less time working around the data model.

• A company can carry more than one type, so a vendor that is also a tenant or broker is recorded as both.
• Rent escalations can run on monthly rent, annual rent, or the per-square-foot rate, rounded each period to match lease rent tables.

Each property now carries its own time zone, set on its Settings tab, so due dates, reminders and lease dates mean the same day for everyone regardless of where they are viewed from. You can also set your own time zone in profile settings, and Cardinal suggests one when a property is still missing it.

• An issue due Friday at a Los Angeles property no longer reads as overdue on Friday evening, and its day-before reminder arrives on Thursday.
• Current-month rent and occupancy now roll over at midnight where the property is, not at midnight UTC.

Properties, leases, portfolios, contacts, reports, inbox and email threads you cannot see now say so plainly instead of showing an empty list, so it's obvious when access is missing rather than when there's nothing there.

When a colleague uploads, renames, moves, deletes or changes sharing on a file or folder, your open file list reflects it immediately. Previously you had to navigate away and back to see the change.

Changing a sort order now returns you to the first page so you start at the top of the new order, returning to the Sent folder brings back the page you were on, and a property's Files tab keeps the number of rows you chose.

Choosing "Save Draft" on a new issue now keeps it as a draft rather than creating a live issue, and it becomes a real issue as soon as you give it a status.

• Drafts stay out of global search and remain available on the Issues Drafts page.

Search results now make it clear when an issue is archived, so archived work no longer looks identical to active work.

• A new `:archived` filter narrows results to only archived or only active issues, and archiving an issue updates search immediately.

Recurring issues that were cancelled before cancellation began archiving them no longer create new occurrences on their own.

Parking, CAM, deposits, concessions, extension and termination rights, insurance, guarantor and notice terms are now stored and edited on the lease itself, so the abstract always reflects the real agreement.

• Money terms display in the property's currency, and dates, square footage and amendment details come straight from the lease.
• The on-site and CAM contact rows have been removed from the abstract; the tenant's people remain the lease's contacts.

Your sort order and rows-per-page choice on Issues, the Inbox, Files, Properties, Leases, Contacts, Reports and other lists are saved to your account and reused on any device.

• Links shared with a specific sort still open exactly as they were sent.

While an organization is paused, its members no longer receive issue or thread notifications, appear in member lists or access lists, or keep team permissions. Internal admins can still see members on the admin page.

• Reloading the page while paused no longer leaves you stuck on the paused screen when the organization resumes.

Forwarded iPhone photos were being sent as hidden parts of the message and rejected by the mail service. They now travel as ordinary attachments, and the copy in your Sent folder matches what the recipient receives.

• Photos the message doesn't display in the body are now listed in the composer with a Remove option.

When a draft is too large, sending and scheduling are blocked until you remove attachments, and the warning clears as soon as you do. If the size comes from the message body rather than attachments, the warning now says so instead of pointing at a list that isn't there.

• A refusal from the mail service is now reported as a size problem rather than a generic connection failure.

When several security-sensitive actions happened at the same time, sign-ins, two-step verification, backup-code use, and access to sensitive contact details could fail with a transaction error. These requests now settle correctly instead of erroring out.

• A blocked request from hitting a rate limit is now reported as such rather than as a server error.

The product name is now consistent across emails, sign-in prompts, and the names of files you export, so nothing arrives under an older name.

Files now opens in your organization's own root folder, where you can keep templates, policies, and master agreements alongside a Properties folder holding everything property-related. The page itself has been rebuilt with List, Icons, and Columns layouts, filters, sorting, renaming, and a category you choose when uploading.

• Every file and folder shows who added it, and items can be moved freely between the organization and property areas.
• An upload that fails now says so at the time, instead of showing a file that later disappears.

You can now give named colleagues view, edit, or manage access to any file or folder, and restrict a folder so only the people you choose can open it. Anything shared with you collects in a new Shared with me page, and recipients are notified.

• Actions you can't perform are now disabled with an explanation instead of failing after the fact.

The search box on the Files pages now filters as you type, and folders appear in global search alongside files, each showing the folder trail it sits in. Results respect who can see what, so shared files are findable and restricted ones stay hidden.

• Any part of a name matches, so "2026" finds "Cabo2026.pdf".

The Issues page can be filtered by when an issue was created or closed, using today, this week, this month, this quarter, or a custom range. Filtering by close date surfaces completed issues without leaving the current tab.

Selecting a large batch of threads and marking them read now completes in one pass, and the list reflects the change right away instead of flickering while it refreshes.

• Threads that are already read are left untouched.

The in-app Cardinal AI button, chat panel, and "Ask AI" option in global search have been removed. You can ask the same questions about your portfolio in Claude or ChatGPT through the Cardinal connector, which reads the same data under the same permissions.

Settings now has a Roles and permissions area showing every role against every area of the product, with a detail page for each role. A member's access is listed by where it comes from — the whole organization, a portfolio, or a named property — and a property's access panel shows the same picture from the other side.

• Inviting someone is now one flow that offers only the roles you can grant and explains what the person will be able to do; choosing specific properties grants only those.
• Pending invites show the access they will create, and property inboxes are no longer listed separately since they come with access to the property.

Opening an email thread now takes a single request instead of three, and threads only load the message content they actually display. Images in an email body load as you scroll toward them, and profile pictures and inline images are reused from the browser's cache instead of being downloaded again on every page.

The manual Needs Reply toggle, bulk action and filter have been removed, since the status is already set when mail arrives and cleared when you reply. The Needs Reply chips on threads and inbox rows are unchanged.

• Bookmarked inbox links that carried the Needs Reply filter will now open unfiltered.

Password & Security now says "Incorrect password" under the Current Password field instead of claiming a reset email was sent when none was.

Attachments like PDFs, text files, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents can now be opened in a new browser tab, so you can read them without losing your place. Images and videos still open in place, with an option to open a document in a new tab when you arrow through a mixed set of files.

• Available on message bodies, the thread and issue sidebars, and the attachment strip under an issue description, which had no preview before.
• If a download fails or your browser blocks the new tab, you now get a clear notice instead of nothing happening.

A single undeliverable address on a mailing list or property no longer stops an announcement or makes it disappear from both Drafts and Sent. It now goes out to everyone else, is recorded in Sent with the recipients it reached, and tells you which addresses were skipped and why.

• Announcements that are too large are delivered in several batches, and one that exceeds the recipient cap or reaches nobody returns to Drafts with the reason.
• Pressing Send on an announcement that already went out no longer sends it twice.

When a message fails to send you now see the specific reason, such as which attachment caused the problem. Reply pickers also only offer individual people, so you can no longer choose a group that would fail on send.

Add a phone number under Password & Security and confirm it, and you can receive a one-time code by text when you sign in. It sits alongside passkeys and authenticator apps rather than replacing them, and the number you use here is separate from the one on your profile.

• US numbers only for now, and the number formats itself as you type so typos are caught before a code is sent.
• If a code can't be delivered, the sign-in screen offers your other methods instead of leaving you waiting.

Passwords now need to be at least 12 characters and hard to guess, and a rejected password comes with specific advice on what would make it stronger. The same rule and wording apply when signing up, changing a password, and accepting an invite, so a password accepted on one screen is never refused on another.

The composer toolbar now has list controls, and typing "- " or "1. " starts a list as you write. Lists arrive in the recipient's inbox looking the way they do on screen.

The lease menu now offers two clearly explained options instead of three overlapping ones — Deactivate marks a lease inactive but keeps it in your lease files, while Archive terminates it and moves it to archived files. Deleting a lease is no longer possible, so retiring one is always reversible.

• Archived leases drop off a property's Leases tab, but their paperwork stays under Files.

When a message arrives from someone who works for a tenant company, the thread is now linked to that company's active leases without anyone doing it by hand. Mail from a contact's secondary address counts too, so it still lands on the right lease.

• Links you added by hand are always kept; on a shared mailbox, leases are linked once the thread has a property set.

The linked-issues panel on an email thread now shows each issue's status, due date, priority, and assignee, and issues created from the thread are marked so they sort first. On the issue page, linked emails are grouped by whether they started the thread or were linked later, with the main participant, last activity, and a Needs Reply indicator.

Choosing a passkey from your password manager now signs you in even if you've already moved on to the password or verification step, instead of leaving you stranded until you refreshed. The passkey option is also offered on the verification step, which previously showed none.

A failed setup attempt now tells you what actually went wrong rather than always claiming the code was incorrect. Abandoned attempts are also cleaned up, so a few mistyped codes can no longer block you from adding an authenticator at all.

Related activity now collapses into a single row showing everyone involved and when it last happened, instead of one identical line per update. Reminders and give-up notices for scheduled sends stay separate so they never blend into comment activity.

• Opening a row takes you to the item and marks the whole group as read, including older updates it stands in for.

All and Unread tabs replace the old checkbox and show the unread count, and the unread dot is now the one control that changes read state. The panel also scrolls on its own rather than running past the bottom of the screen.

You can now pick a future date and time when composing a message or replying in a thread, and a new Scheduled list in the inbox shows everything waiting to go out. Nothing is committed until you press Schedule, and you can unschedule at any point to edit or send right away.

• Every scheduled time is shown with its timezone, so a message set for the morning goes out at the hour you expect.
• Announcements state that recipients are resolved at send time, so a message scheduled for December reaches whoever is on the list in December.

Choosing a day in the calendar now applies it immediately instead of waiting for a confirmation step that was easy to miss, so due dates no longer get discarded. This covers every date field in the app, including lease and rent dates, file dates, recurring issue schedules, and search filters.

Setting an issue to Cancelled now moves it out of the issues list in a single action, whether you do it on the issue itself or on several at once. Cancelled work no longer sits alongside things people are still working on.

• Cancelled has been removed from the issues list Status filter; search and the Archived page still find cancelled issues.

The Create Issue dialog now fills in from the thread once, when it opens, so incoming activity on that thread no longer overwrites the title, properties, or assignee you just set. You can also assign an issue when the thread has no property attached.

Toast notifications now default to the top-right corner and render as an elevated white card with a shadow and a quick fade/slide-in, instead of the centered flat-gray card shared with inline banners. This keeps them away from the chat launcher in the bottom-right and makes them easier to scan without blocking the center of the screen.

• Top-right placement is the new default everywhere `CToast` is used.
• `CBanner` keeps its existing appearance for inline alerts; the toast-specific styling is applied through a backward-compatible `style` merge.

Profile settings now holds up to three named signatures, each written in a full editor with its own on/off switch and preview. The one you mark as default is added automatically when you start a new message or a reply, so it no longer has to be pasted in each time.

• In a reply the signature sits under where you type and above the quoted conversation.
• Previews show how a signature reads both with images loaded and with images blocked.

You can add a logo to a signature and choose whether it sits beside or within your text, and a signature copied out of another mail client keeps its layout, links, fonts and spacing when pasted in. Images travel with every message you send, so recipients see them.

• Signature images are limited to 2 MB and to PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP.
• A pasted logo that only works for you is flagged with instructions for storing your own copy.

A logo in a signature is part of the message rather than a file sent alongside it, so threads no longer show a paperclip and filtering by attachment no longer returns nearly every conversation.

The public site now has dedicated pages for property management, facilities management, accounting and CAM reconciliation, and lease administration, each with published service standards and answers to common owner questions.

The contact form now holds a list of addresses with one marked primary, so role inboxes and old addresses can live on the same record instead of forcing a duplicate contact. Contacts with a single address look and work exactly as before.

• Correcting an address asks once whether to keep the previous one, so mail from it still lands on that contact.
• If an address already belongs to someone else, a prompt names the owner and offers to merge the records, move the address, or keep them separate.

Incoming mail attaches to a contact through any of their addresses, and adding an address links the existing conversations that already mention it. Search results show the address that actually matched, the announcement composer suggests contacts by any address and sends to the one you typed, and contact filters no longer come back empty for a non-primary address.

• Exported contact cards now include every address, primary first.

You can now request a sign-in link and enter the six-digit code from the email instead of a password. The code field accepts a paste, checks itself as soon as the last digit lands, and tells you plainly when a code has expired or been used.

Opening a detail page such as a user under Settings used to leave its trail on screen through every page visited afterwards. Breadcrumbs now belong to the page that set them.

People given access to a property were landing in an empty inbox because the property's mailbox wasn't shared with them. Access to a property now brings its mailbox along, and existing organizations have been corrected.

• Admins can turn the mailbox off for a specific grant or invite with a checkbox in the access dialogs.
• The mailbox members list now shows who is there because of property access.

You can now create a property without choosing a currency; the field is optional and will be locked in after the first financial transaction is recorded.

The View and Sort menu now offers Due Soonest and Due Latest, so you can work through what's coming up first. Issues without a due date always sort to the bottom, whichever direction you choose.

Replying to a thread with inline images could discard your draft if you stepped away and reopened it later. Drafts are now always preserved, and warnings about a draft that couldn't be saved stay on screen until you dismiss them.

Signed-in pages now load straight into the app instead of flashing an empty screen and a spinner while your session starts up.

Select issues directly in the list and apply status, priority, assignment, or archiving to all of them in one step, the same way the inbox works. Bulk edits behave exactly like editing issues one by one, so activity history, notifications, and recurring issues stay correct.

• Shift-click to select a range, or use select-all to act on the whole list.

A priority filter now sits alongside the issues search bar, from Urgent through No Priority, with a removable chip and a shareable link. Priority filters chosen in global search now carry through when you open the full issues list.

• "No Priority" now finds every issue without one, including issues created through the API, chat, or a recurring schedule.

Typing a short word fragment could return nothing while typing one more letter found the record — for example, "seattle boat com" missing "Seattle Boat Company." Suggestions now match reliably as you type, and words can be entered in any order.

• Names typed out of order still work, with the natural word order ranked highest.

Priority, status, title, property, type, due date, and assignee now sit in consistent columns so the same field lines up across every row, adapting to narrower spaces and stacking on small screens. Issues without a priority are also clearly marked instead of looking like Medium.

Some outbound emails were being delivered without their attachments, or with empty files, without any warning. Attachments are now verified before an email is sent, and inline images embedded in a message body render correctly for recipients.

• Emails with missing attachment files now fail with a clear error instead of sending silently without them
• Inline images referenced in the message body display properly in recipients' inboxes

If a file fails to upload while you're drafting an email, the composer now tells you right away instead of appearing to succeed. Incomplete attachments are cleaned up automatically so you can retry with confidence.

• Failed uploads surface an error in the composer as they happen
• Partially uploaded files are removed rather than left attached to the draft

Drafts on deeply quoted email threads could silently fail to save, risking lost work. Those drafts now save correctly, and if a save ever does fail, Cardinal tells you instead of failing quietly.

• A persistent "Couldn't save draft — retrying…" indicator appears with a Retry now action while saves are failing.
• Sending is blocked with a clear message if the latest recipient or subject changes haven't been saved yet.
• Closing the composer while saves are failing now asks for confirmation instead of discarding your work.
• Existing drafts keep working and update automatically the next time they're saved.

The @mention picker on message thread comments listed everyone in the organization, including people without access to that mailbox — mentioning them appeared to work but never sent a notification. It now suggests only people with access to the thread.

• Suggestions match the same access list already used by the assignee picker beside it.
• Mentions on issues are unchanged, since issue access is organization-wide.

Mentions looked like highlighted chips while typing but flattened into plain text once the comment was posted. Posted comments now show the same chip styling and @ prefix as the editor.

Several layout issues in the inbox and thread detail sidebars have been cleaned up so fields line up and long text no longer breaks the layout.

• Status and Assigned to controls now match in size and alignment, and the Status menu opens fully instead of being cut off at the bottom of the sidebar.
• Long assignee names, attachment file names, and linked item titles now truncate instead of pushing actions out of view or adding a horizontal scrollbar.
• Linked issue and linked thread underlines now follow the title text instead of trailing across the row.

The documentation site now covers areas that previously had no written guidance, so you can find answers about your subscription and account settings without contacting support. Each guide is linked from the docs sidebar and the Next Steps grid.

• Plans & Billing walks through self-serve tiers vs. Enterprise, plan selection and checkout, your current subscription card, upgrades, interval switches and downgrades, usage and limits, invoices, and how to recover from a failed payment or ended subscription.
• Password & Security explains the two-step password change, the six password strength requirements, and how to reset by email if you don't know your current password.
• Notifications covers the release-notes email toggle and points you to where other notification settings live.

Existing guides have been rewritten to reflect features shipped in recent releases, and outdated guidance for interface elements that no longer exist has been removed.

• Inbox: workflow statuses, the Needs Reply flag, per-person read state and read-by avatars, the rebuilt filter bar, and bulk actions with shift-click range selection.
• Threads: the Attachments panel with source attribution and display renaming, plus emoji reactions, `:emoji` autocomplete, and @mentions.
• Contacts, Search, and Issues: multiple labeled phone numbers with extensions and vCard export, phone fragment and extension search, and the updated Issues view including due-date chips and description prefill from a thread.

Releases now appear as a timeline of dated cards you can expand to read the full change list, with counts per change type in each header and optional detail bullets under individual changes. The newest release opens expanded by default.

• Release notes for versions 0.5.2 and 0.5.3 have been added so the public timeline is complete.
• Release dates now display correctly for readers west of UTC, where they previously appeared one day early.

In Notifications settings, the "Release notes" heading, description, and toggle sat slightly above their counterparts in the adjacent column. Everything now lines up, with the toggle centered on its heading.

A thread that a teammate has opened no longer looks read to you. The Inbox now tracks read state per viewer, so the Unread by Me filter and unread dot match what you have actually seen.

• Row read state is computed from your own read history instead of a global flag.
• The unread dot continues to show whether anyone on the team has picked up the thread.
• Opening a thread marks it read for you only; it stays unread for teammates who have not viewed it.

Issues now have dedicated Archived and Draft booleans, and the status field is a focused four-value enum. New issues default to To Do, and closing the New Issue dialog with unsaved work offers to save a draft instead of silently discarding it.

• Archived and Draft are separate fields, so terminal statuses no longer need to double as archive or draft states.
• Statuses are To Do, In Progress, Completed, and No Status; Backlog, Duplicate, and legacy values are mapped into these on upgrade.
• The New Issue dialog prompts to save a draft when you close it with changes; untitled drafts are saved as "Untitled issue".

Thread and issue statuses now render with the same StatusIcon, "No Status" is filterable everywhere, and the legacy Incomplete value is folded into No Status so untriaged items never hide.

• Threads and issues share a single status taxonomy and icon set.
• The "No Status" filter matches both explicit No Status and legacy Incomplete values.
• Status count tabs and dropdowns use the same option order across the Inbox, issues table, and message lists.

Inbox rows are now a strict column grid, so every cell lines up across rows regardless of which data is present. Recipients, status chips, dates, and assignees no longer shift when a neighbor is empty.

• Each layout (full, embedded, outbound) has its own column template with fixed tracks and a flexing subject column.
• Container-query tiers add columns as the list gets wider, so the row adapts to the panel size, not the viewport.
• Recipient chips and long names truncate with an ellipsis instead of overflowing into the next column.

The thread details page now shows an Archived chip and labels the archive action to match the current state. Needs Reply is displayed as a chip and toggled with "Mark as replied" / "Mark as needs reply".

• The info bar shows the same Archived chip used by inbox rows.
• The archive action tooltip and icon reflect whether the thread is currently archived.
• Needs Reply uses the same wording as bulk actions, so the action matches the state it sets.

Message rows in the Inbox now display the date the last message was received, matching the order the list is sorted in. Threads where you sent the most recent message no longer look newer than they are.

• Rows read the date from the last message the thread received, so what you see always matches where the thread sits in the list.
• Sending a message no longer moves a thread up — outbound replies leave the received date alone.

Assign threads to a teammate, flag conversations that still need a reply, and archive threads you are done with — so the Inbox reflects what actually needs attention.

• Assign a thread from the row, the thread sidebar, or a multi-thread selection.
• Needs Reply stays on until someone on your team actually replies — a teammate joining the thread does not clear it.
• Archived threads drop out of the working Inbox but stay reachable through filters and search.

Read and unread state is now tracked per person, and you can select multiple threads to update status, assignment, or archive in one action.

• Opening a thread marks it read for you only — it stays unread for everyone who has not looked at it.
• Select any number of threads to set status, assign an owner, flag Needs Reply, or archive in one pass.

Status, assignee, Needs Reply, archive, and read-state changes made by a teammate appear immediately for everyone viewing the Inbox — no refresh needed.

• The Inbox list updates just the thread that changed, so your scroll position and selection survive.
• An open thread refreshes its detail and meta sidebars when a teammate changes it out from under you.

Threads without a status are now explicitly "No Status" and filterable, so untriaged conversations can't hide. Unread badges and counts were retired in favor of the new workflow signals.

• Every thread carries a real status, and new threads start at "No Status" instead of blank.
• "No Status" is a filter option in the Inbox and in the message lists on contacts, companies, and properties.
• Unread badges and counts are gone from the Inbox and the dashboard widget — assignment and Needs Reply carry that signal now.

Contacts now support multiple phone numbers with labels (mobile, office, and more) and separate extensions. They appear everywhere a phone is shown — contact pages, chat cards, search results, dashboards, and vCard downloads.

• Each number carries its own label and extension, entered in the new-contact dialog or the contact details form.
• International numbers round-trip correctly, and the display format is consistent everywhere the number is shown.
• Phone numbers already on your contacts were carried forward — nothing to re-enter.

Replying to or forwarding a plain-text email now carries the quoted conversation history into your draft, just like HTML email.

• Plain-text bodies are converted to formatted text when the draft opens, so the quoted history is readable and editable.

When a new version of Cardinal is available, a subtle sidebar button lets you refresh when convenient instead of a floating banner interrupting your work.

• The prompt lives in the sidebar rather than floating over the page.
• The new version loads on your next navigation, so nothing reloads out from under a half-finished task.

Files attached to issues and message threads now live in one consistent attachments experience, so documents stay with the work they belong to.

• Issues and threads share the same attachment card, upload, and delete actions.
• A thread sidebar lists every file that came through the conversation.
• Adding or removing a file updates the list right away — no page reload.

Completed issues are hidden from the default Issues view (still one click away via the Completed tab), and each issue shows a due-date chip instead of an age chip.

• Completed issues are also excluded from the "All" tab total, so the count matches what the table actually renders.
• The due-date chip is suppressed once an issue reaches a final status.

Inbound emails carrying large attachments (up to the 35MB provider ceiling) are no longer dropped, and text-only emails display their content even without an HTML body.

• Attachments up to the 35MB provider ceiling are accepted instead of silently discarded.
• Text-only messages fall back to their plain-text body rather than rendering empty.

Creating an issue from an Inbox thread now prefills the issue description from the conversation, so context carries over without copy-paste.

• The description is seeded from the source thread the moment the New Issue dialog opens — edit it down instead of pasting it in.

Replying to all no longer seeds the wrong recipient list.

Mentioning someone in an issue comment now reliably notifies them.

Type :emoji in comments and messages to insert emojis inline.

Announcements now go out via BCC, so recipients cannot see the full list.

React to comments with an emoji palette instead of writing a reply.

The Inbox meta sidebar and issue sidebars were aligned and cleaned up.
